The Life of the Church depends greatly on lay parishioners to Carry out the Works of the Church.
Here you Proclaim the Word of God at the Ambo (podium) to the people of God. They are nourished through the word by your ministries. This is a ministry where you do not simply read the word of God, but Proclaim the Word of God. There are workbooks to help with pronunciations and emphasis on certain texts. Talk to the secretary in the office for more information.
The Sacristan's ministry happens typically before and after Mass with getting the gifts of bread and wine ready before Holy Mass, setting out the precious vessels used for the Eucharist and if requested by the priest, purifying the vessels after each use. Other tasks that may be carried out is getting incense ready, cleansing the purificators, making sure the colors of altar cloths are correct for the day, maintaining altar candles, getting the lectionary and roman missal ready, and other duties carried out in the sacristy of the church. Call the Pastor if you are interested in helping with this essential ministry.
Ushers are those nice folks that greet people as they come into the church or leave, help with the weekly offering collection, help folks find a seat when it is difficult, pass out the weekly bulletin to people after Mass, and be ready if someone is in need of some form of assistance. Here at St. Stanislaus we still ring our church bells to call the parishioners to Mass and for funerals, and they are still rung by hand, so the ushers are the ones who do this duty. Call the parish office for more information.
Our Senior Choir sings for most Masses and Funerals and are always looking for new members to join!
If you would like to provide your own music for the Masses you are welcome to do that as well. For scheduling, call the Parish office for more information!
If you are a Pianist or Organist, we would love to have you play with us! Since we have no formal director, usually the accompanist does the planning of music for the Mass that they play. Call the parish office for more info!
